The moving truck is here. One last deep breath in this place.
Saturday marked our final big move day in Minnesota. It feels strange to even type those words. My husband was born and raised here. We met here. I’ve spent 16 years here. All of our children were born here. Our oldest graduated high school here. Our youngest two have only ever called this state home.
For me, the East Coast has always felt like home — it’s where my roots are — but over time, Minnesota became more than just where we lived. It became the backdrop of our family’s story. It’s the place that held us through countless seasons: snowy first days of school, summers at the lake, late-night sports practices, and slow weekend mornings at the farmers’ market.
This move is a strange mix of heartbreak and hope. We’re loading boxes full of memories while making space for what’s ahead.
What Comes Next
A POD is already on its way to Connecticut, carrying the pieces of our home and the beginnings of our new chapter. Over the next few weeks, the kids will start school there, and we’ll begin settling in. But next week, we’ll be back in Minnesota one last time — to close up the house, move our final things into storage, and bring our oldest to college here.
That last part might be the hardest. We’re leaving a part of our hearts right where we’ve been rooted for so long.
Behind the Scenes at Grace & Haven
Through all of this, Grace & Haven has been a surprising anchor for me. Starting something new in a new place could have felt isolating, but instead, it’s connected us to our new community in Connecticut.
Even in the midst of moving chaos — boxes everywhere, constantly checking school start dates, figuring out where the coffee mugs are — I’ve been dreaming up what’s next for the shop. This week, that means marking an important moment with The End of an Era Sale — a way to close one chapter while celebrating the new one we’re stepping into.
We’re offering 40% off past season styles from Noralee, Quincy Mae, Marea, and more — in baby, toddler, and women’s sizes — plus free shipping, always. It’s my way of saying thank you for walking alongside our family and our brand during this big transition.
Holding Space for Both
If I’m honest, I’m overwhelmed. Moving across states, preparing to send a child off to college, and growing a business at the same time feels like too much some days. But I’m learning to hold space for both the grief of goodbye and the excitement of what’s ahead.
We’re closing one beautiful, memory-filled chapter in Minnesota and opening another in Connecticut — and I can’t wait to welcome you into it.
